Q. Is there any indication of heart issue in my mother’s ECG?

Questions

Hi doctor,

My mother is under treatment for hypothyroidism, hypertension and osteoarthritis of knee joints, which is stage 2. I have attached her current medication list and ECG report. I request you to kindly have a look at the ECG and advice whether there is any indication of heart issues. Although the ECG is marked as normal, our doctor had suspected the possibility of LBBB. So, I want to get your kind opinion in this matter. I have also attached a copy of her lipid profile test reports done a few months back for your kind considerations. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to dr.sitehome.info.

We are here to help you. I have seen the attached report (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

  • The attached electrocardiogram – ECG seems normal to me.
  • However, there is a slight left axis deviation, making your doctor to comment on LBBB (left bundle branch block). Now, this does not require any specific treatment.
  • However, I would recommend a 2D echo to see the ejection fraction as well as the functioning of the heart.
  • However, in her case, I would recommend low dose statins as they keep blood vessels and heart functioning well other than controlling high BP. Consult her specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and take the medicine with consent.
